Too old Intel driver on 10.04 LTS server
I need framebuffer output on HDMI on servers running Ubuntu 10.04 server, unfortunately there's only framebuffer output when HDMI is connected from before boot, and as this is servers it is crucial that we can plug a HDMI monitor to the servers and get a framebuffer. VGA works, but the boss wants HDMI and it's not feasible to upgrade yet.
I checked with udevadm and the kernel doesn't notice when HDMI is plugged in and out, but it works with 13.04 desktop (live usb).
I suspect it's because the intel driver is too old, can we somehow update the driver? bear in mind that the servers run with a custom kernel because we need a certain version of HDMI.
I hope you can help.
